Pechino, Cina, Agosto 2012.
A stroll along 南锣鼓巷 (Nan Luogu Xiang, the south alley of the Gong and Drum) is always an adventure and a discovery. The turnover rate of the shops on the main street, as well as on the side streets, is very high, and every time new discoveries are possible (as much as the possibility to taste many different snacks sold by the numerous shops, ancient or less so). This colorful theater mask was put on display to adorn the door of a shop. Beijing, China, August 2012.

Pechino, Cina, Maggio 2010
This crossing in 西单 (Xidan) is a hymn to consumerism, with a long row of department stores on one side, the huge and rich bookshop (Tushu Dasha) on the other, and the 文化广场 (Wenhua Guangchang, the Culture Square) at the center. These pedestrian overpasses, most often pretty crowded, make both crossing roads and driving in the area much easier, and safe. Beijing, China, May 2010

Il 遛鸟

Questa foto e' stata scattata su 鼓楼东大街 (Gulou Dong Dajie, Viale Est della Torre del Tamburo) nell'inverno del 2011.
During the icy cold Beijing winters, to seek solace in a little restaurant of 涮肉 (Shuanrou, literally "rinsed out meat", which is a kind of meat cooked with flavored boiling water inside a pot and then dipped in a sauce made by sesame and other ingredients) is a pleasure very hard to give up, allowing the vapor coming up from the boiling pots to slowly warm up your stomach and soul. This pic was taken on 鼓楼东大街 (Gulou Dong Dajie, the Eastern Avenue of the Drum Tower) in the winter of 2011.

Pechino, Cina, Giugno 2012.
I shot this pic on a rush, and almost by chance. I saw a kind of an enormous white cloud floating in front of me, a wide open mouth rushing to devour it and...zaac, my hand went down to the reflex camera. The lighting was not easy to manage...miracles of RAW format. Beijing, China, June 2012.
